So Long Speedboats, Hello Multi-Function Tritoon

Brussee is more than just a Qwest customer, he’s part of the Qwest family for other reasons, too.

John Brussee has owned about 15 boats throughout his life – and all of them were built to go FAST, but in 2016 he purchased a Qwest 822 RLS and hasn’t missed the “fast life" at all.  In fact, some of those speedboats might even eat his Qwest tritoon’s wake these days.

“I can still go pretty fast with my 150 Mercury on the back,” he said.  “But now I can cruise or fish with my wife, kids, and grandkids, all at the same time. I can even pull a couple of skiers with no problem; I don’t miss the speedboats at all.”

Brussee likes to sneak out early before work to enjoy some Qwest “me time,” working a deep weed line for bass.

“We live on Brooks Lake, north of Grand Rapids,” he said.  “It’s great to just head down to the dock and take the Qwest out in the mornings.  I hit four or five spots and then head in.  It’s great.”

While he admits the rig isn’t the same as bass boat for working docks in tight spaces, he wouldn’t trade it for the world.

“My wife would kill me,” he said.  “We all love the boat so much we’d never get rid of it.”

The funny thing is, Brussee has a connection beyond just cruising.

“My company is in printing and I saw a Qwest catalog at a dealer,” he said.  “For the heck of it I shot the owner of Apex an email, telling him that I love my Qwest. I asked him about getting him a quote for printing their catalogs.  I got a shot and won the business!”

Brussee has been printing the Qwest Pontoons catalog ever since.
