There are a lot of things Jacob Hillesland likes about his Qwest 816 E Class Lanai but it’s clear that having all the fun without the stress that comes with owning a larger rig sits high on the list.
“I like our pontoon because it is smaller which makes it easy to maneuver in the landing or at a restaurant after our trip,” he said. “We also like that we could spend a little more money on higher quality items like a fish finder since we saved money with a smaller pontoon, overall.”
The Hillesland’s had never owned a pontoon but had been on several, so they had a good idea of what they needed.
“We like to cruise and fish,” he said. “My wife and our guests enjoy the scenery from the chairs and couches while I fish off the back. I also like to troll when I fish because it allows me to cover a lot of water while my wife takes in the changing scenery or just reads a book. I fish for almost anything, but my favorite is walleye.”
Despite what he feels was a great price on the overall rig, Hillesland said that quality was still abundant in the Lanai.
“The quality of the pontoon was superior to the competition,” he said. “We were able to spend more money upgrading the captain’s seat and some other amenities. I think our seats are more comfortable than other pontoons I've been on.”
Two highlights he’s had since owning that boat stick out in his mind.
“My two favorite Qwest moments are cruising the lake watching evening fireworks on July 4th and fishing with my dad on his birthday.”
Does it get any better?
